If that's true, my next flight on this route will absolutely be on American (which also serves a real meal instead of a sad box, caters citrus, and has rum - unlike Delta post-COVID).
IME AA's catering is a bit of a mess too. No meals completely missing in recent memory but on my last four flights in AA's F with a meal service at least one element of the service was not catered or catered incorrectly. Missing citrus is not uncommon. Not to mention some sketchy food.
