Moving to the USA - frequent flyer strategy?

Hello all,

I have been living in France for six years and throughout this time I have slowly climbed the echelons at Flying Blue to reach the Platinum level. I have recently requalified for the status until Nov 2023.

I will soon be moving to the US, with my "local" airport likely being LAX. I am trying to figure out my frequent flyer strategy. Do I remain with Flying Blue, at the risk of seeing my status drop due to the meager 2XPs for each domestic leg? Do I try to get a status match with another alliance? Do I try crediting with Delta, and accept that I'll have to start from scratch?

And does it even matter at all, since I'll be flying less than I currently am? I'm probably looking at 5-6 domestic round trips and 1-2 long-hauls per year in the future.

I have considered the Bank of America Flying Blue MasterCard but having never lived in the US before, I have no credit history, which will likely make any credit card application very difficult at first.

I'll take any advice I can get Thank you!
