You're running an Android version that's 5 years old. Almost all mobile app developers stop supporting old OS versions during upgrades. Marriott is one of them. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't support Android 9 either but I can't find specific info. For iOS the app requires iOS 14 or newer which is only 2 years old (released Sept 2020).
