I am actually ticked at how long it takes CIBC to post payments. I use TDCanadatrust, I make both my Amex and Aerogold payments on the same day, the Amex would post within 48 hours and the CIBC Visa takes forever. For this month, it still hasn't posted and my due date is coming up very soon so I'll be quite pissed if they charge me any interest since all my payments are always full amount and at least made 1 week in advance.
I had the same experience two months ago on my Sept/Oct statement. I also paid through TDCanada Trust and CIBC ended up charging me interest on a fairly substantial balance. My payment was split into two parts, 1 part from TD where I deposit my expense cheques and the second from another bank where I deposit my pay. The TD stuff posted late, but the other portion posted ontime, even though I made the payments one after another.
When I called CIBC, the agent told me it was likely TD that was causing the problem, but she reversed the interest charges anyway. Hope you don't have to make the call. Or maybe your payment has been sent to a US junkyard for safe keeping
