I am a lowly platinum that stayed there in June, and they just told me there were no rooms to upgrade (I had submitted an SNA request). I ended up with an interior corner room with terrible wifi connection as well. I was O.K. overall though as I spent the early hours running, the daytime at a meeting, then the evenings wandering the city. The room was only used for showers and sleeping.
The free breakfast excellent for both the food and the view though. Always had enough to skip lunch.
