United Premier 1K, Platinum, Gold FULL Status on Ebay?
G'day all, first post here - so feel free to dump A1 all over me and set me on fire.
Just came around wondering what the hell are these going around on eBay. This one seller who is selling status challenges by the dozen as well as full on United Status for 1 year.
United Premier 1K Status - Asking Price $3,000 - Offered $1,000 USD
United Premier Platinum Status - Asking Price $1,500 - Offered $750 USD
United Premier Gold Status - Asking Price $1,000 - Offred $450 USD
This also extends into American Airlines with full on Status into 2024 running you $4,000 for Platinum and 75k miles for $4,000 however I have got an offer for $1,750 USD. Hawaiian Airlines Platinum, Hotels you name it this random guy has got it.
For Status Challanges I'd imagine it's easy to fool the airline since there's no checking between the two carriers, but full-on status? It seems legit and with eBays policy, and if it was a scam he'd be long gone.
How does this happen and are carriers putting in more efforts into stopping these people. I remember Qantas taking years to stop the whole Qantas Club physical passes and transfer them too digital.
Any explanation on how this works would be appreciated since I am stuck in a pickle.
