I can't see my new special meal request, but the phone agent says she can

New flight coming up, same route, and this time bought the tickets in business to begin with. My special meal request came in automatically - I saw it in the receipt and when I looked online. But not my wife's. I called in, and explained to the agent that I had tried several times to add hers on the website, each time resulting in an error message (and another email receipt still showing no SPML for her). The agent assured me that she could see it in her system.

However, when I use Canadian Cow's helpful PNR lookup, I still see no special meal for my wife. I can't post the screen shot yet, but I see my special listed, but hers is blank.

Can I trust what the agent said? Should I call again?

While this should be the case, it is not. The special listed on your profile is just a ‘preference’ and not a request.

You have to specifically choose it during the booking process or call AC reservations to have it put in at least 24 hours before your flight, or the odds of your special meal showing up is 0%.
