I don’t think it’s pathetic. While BA’s CE catering is, IMHO, the best in Europe, CW still isn’t where it should be for a premium, long haul product for which travellers regularly shell out thousands of pounds.
I don’t have any qualms about saying that, just as I don’t have any qualms about saying that the opposite is true for Air France and KLM, whose short-haul business meals leave
a lot to be desired.
Could the OP have phrased it better? Sure, but English isn’t their first language and if we keep letting BA off the hook for bad service (“because of the pandemic,” “because of staff shortages” - the latter being entirely their own fault -, etc.), then we can well expect the product to be degraded accordingly.
