Totally agree with this. Perplexed why someone would claim it's 'so bad' you have to take your own food on board. It's not as good as it was pre-pandemic (CW is changing from 1 November though and going back to the old standard), and it's very similar to Club Europe right now, but it's not bad. I'd say that it's not a huge portion if anything! For me, flying on a 10 hour CW flight the portion sizes really aren't big at all with the single tray option.

Maybe eat in the lounge first before boarding? That's all I do. Let's face it, often on a CW flight they don't serve until 2 hours after the flight takes off anyhow, so it's often a good 3-4 hours between your lounge food and being served on the plane.
