I agree with you regarding British Airways food in CW. Often disappointing, it was improving pre-Covid, and I hope it does again. Regardless, I have never taken food on board to eat - on any airline, anywhere. Nor have I used BOB. I understand why people prefer to cater for themselves though.
You are right to be concerned, given some of the atrocious food images detailed on the BA forum. Yet the thought of storing pre-purchased food in a hot cabin for hours doesn't seem a great alternative. If you are lucky, you may be pleasantly surprised. If unfortunate, the food should be enough to sustain you over seven hours. British Airways needs a healthy injection of constructive criticism (backed by complaints) to prod it forward. Alternatively, a drop in sales might buck it up.
