My partner and I stayed here two years ago, in a gap between covid lockdowns. This meant the service wasn't quite as normal as you'd hope but the rooms were well appointed, the roof terrace had fab views and the staff were very friendly.

Only downside is that the street it's on is too narrow for most taxis and the one-way system in the old town makes for some interesting routes to get to it. Otherwise, its location is actually excellent and very close to the cathedral.

Friends of mine have stayed at the Alfonso VIII and said it was stunning, if you really want to push the boat out.
