On the other hand, I assume there's zero chance that my SNA could be applied to a stay booked from their account, is that right?
Answering your second question first, you are correct. Zero chance of that. Your SNAs can only be applied to a reservation on your own account.

The answer to your first question is YMMV. Strictly, no because you must pay and stay to get the benefits of your membership and not just stay (and as the reservation is in your relative's name under their account you're clearly not paying even if the night is a FNC and therefore "free"). But you may find that a hotel grants you your benefits as an elite if you ask when checking in. It will be up to the benevolence of the individual hotel if they do this and you cannot complain if they don't. But I'm sure many people will chime in with anecdotes as to how they've been successful at doing exactly what you want to do. So it never hurts to ask nicely at check in.
