Yes and it's dependent on Marriott corporate policies too. I stayed here dozens of times as Starwood Platinum and never had an issue getting a room at various times of the day. The traffic patterns of this hotel are no different than 10 or 20 years ago, not counting the pandemic.
Oh the things we used to get as SPG Platinums! Memories of the past that we can only dream of under Bonvoy.
