not fluent in Airbus or NG/MAX, since my Boeing Flight Test experience was back in the 737-200 days when we were dealing with all the variants of the JT8D (-7, -7A, -9, -11, -15 with and without exhaust mixers, -17 with and without mixers) ... each of the three manufacturers of high-bypass engines for the wide-body fleets also had multiple models

bottom line -- it's pretty well impossible to generalize
