I attended the same FT function and stayed here for similar reasons with the exception that I stayed two nights. Friday night arrival, though I had checked in on the app, which reflected an upgrade to corner king pool view which is also what I received. The valet/door staff directed me to the Thompson desk to check in, as mentioned upthread.

I was surprised at that hour to get to my room and find the door propped open with the housekeeping cart outside, with the housekeeping person sitting on their phone at the table/sink just chilling out on their phone -- but they quickly popped up and left when I showed up (didn't ask me to verify my key against the lock...)

The main note I would add is that the Wifi was janky -- although I was able make the actual wifi connection quickly, it took 30-60 seconds for the sign-in page to appear, and after clicking on the button to choose wifi, it was slow to load the next page to enter your name and room number. 14 MBPs up/down according to Speedtest.

The entrance is just about halfway between 5th and 6th, I would say; a couple times when getting a ride, I jumped out on 5th street and walked around the corner from that direction.

Agreed on all counts, but luckily I am a sound sleeper.

Edit: Called in and they said there was plenty of availability to use the free night cert, so seems to be some sort of web site glitch for this particular hotel. I mentioned they should fix it, who knows if/when it actually will. Anyways got my stay booked using my cert. Was debating between this or Hyatt Place (which probably has bigger rooms) but I think as a Globlist I get free breakfast by staying at the Tommie right?
As of August when I booked, they were still having this issue, had to call in to get it booked.

My mind also made the Aloft comparison -- although the tommie feels more aesthetically upscale, I've also stayed at the Aloft back in 2017 and from what I remember the space there felt more functional/useable. The single chair in the tommie was not particularly comfortable for me, and if you want to use the counter as a workspace there's not much of it before it becomes the sink, plus you're facing away from the rest of the room.

I didn't notice until right before I checked out that there is a note on the corkboard by the door informing you that there are drawers underneath the bed for additional storage. I didn't really need it, but if you were slogging through a multi-day stay it might help make things more liveable.

In re-reading this I seem to be complaining a lot but it was fine for a weekend stay, and the staff were all great.
