I can't help but think that, given the likely soft demand, some of the 77Es are going to be retired in the not too distant future. So, this may be influencing the speed of completing the refurbishments. I know the original plan was to get 30 years out of them but, that was when demand was growing.
Against that, though, is the fleet reduction from the retired 747s, the last of which were due to be replaced by 777-9s that aren't going to see the light of day for some years yet....
