I have some normal non-border related trip questions again for the crowd here:

1) My wife has become enamored with Japanese incense (kodo). Is there a particular region that specializes in this (We'll be in Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto/Hokkaido)? I know next to nothing about it but want to set something up either a class or a fun ceremony for us to do.

2) Do you all carry coin purses when traveling (or living) in Japan? I was at a get together a few weeks ago and was talking with a guy who spent 3 years in Japan and he insisted we had to have one lest we drop all our coins embarrassingly.

3) Subjective question here: Any recommendations for a kaiseki (or two) meal in Kyoto? Not really too fussed on the cost but wanted to sort of poll the group. Recommendations I've had before were Kikunoi Roan, Guilo Guilo Hitoshina, Kiyamachi Sakuragawa. I'll be using the concierge to get these reservations as from what I've seen it's not easy to get in to any of them.
