We just completed a late-September stay here.

Abridged version: our thoughts mirror the more recent comments above. We booked a standard one-bedroom king suite at an average rate of ~$360 including parking; at that price, the value outweighs the service issues and we would probably choose the Roosevelt again if available at a comparable rate.

Basic Diamond stuff. We were upgraded two categories to a Waldorf Suite the day before 👍. The F&B credit is the standard $25/person; for us, that covered morning coffee and a couple of evening drinks. Based on the breakfast menu we saw, the credit would probably fall a bit short of the full tab (most entrees were $20-25).

Property-specific info. While some rooms face Canal, entrances are on the two side streets and both buildings are set back from Canal. Our room had no view and felt like it was uniquely positioned, as the bedroom and main bath had no windows; it felt odd, but made for dark and quiet sleeping. In-room coffee is Nespresso. The pool is technically rooftop, but atop a low-rise building so on floor 4. The pool itself is fairly small but the deck expansive.

Dining and service. Hours for food service varied by outlet and day, but we received a printed recap at check-in. Teddy’s Cafe has a traditional coffee bar as well as table service for breakfast and lunch. The Fountain Lounge (actually a restaurant) was also open for breakfast daily. As cited previously, the pool bar closes at 6. We had drinks in the Sazerac Bar one night but chose the less-crowded bar area of the Fountain Lounge other nights. Valet parking service was very quick, with a surface valet lot right across the street. Cost is $51/night.

Service glitches. We had to request housekeeping at 5-6pm on two nights despite taking our DND off at 9-10am. The second time we requested, the front desk representative’s response was “they don’t service your room with the do not disturb sign on,” followed by a blank stare. More oddly, the hot water was extremely slow: I timed on our last morning and the shower ran a full four minutes before being hot enough to use. Finally, we were charged for parking despite being on a parking-inclusive rate - still awaiting the reversal.

I’m willing to write off the housekeeping to short staffing and the hot water to the building’s age, but things like that keep the Roosevelt out of the upper tier of New Orleans hotels.
