Tried to do a triple quote to get all 3 responses in 1 but have no clue what I was doing..........

Yes DL you can cancel and swap out partner awards in 1 shot and they give you the difference back or charge you the difference. United have done it for their own tickets but not partner.

While I was able to to put the new ticket on hold and could have bought it myself but the miles werent being redeposited quick enough so I had to call in. I find lately AA is sending the miles back quick but it wasnt happening this time. I must have just had the worst agent b/c he was unable to do this simple task but yet kept me on phone almost an hour.. I even suggested maybe you need to speak to the Help desk but he never went to them. I dont know if he was trying to swap flights and credit me the difference but AA doesnt do it like that, which is what was frustrating to me.

In the end he cancelled the ticket and had the new one changed from On Hold to Pending but the new one was still asking for miles and i needed the other miles to be redeposited but he did not successfully do that. Probably just a bad agent but still wish I could do this online.
