Auto won’t upgrade you if occupancy of the upgradable types is more than 50%. It won’t upgrade where there is only one room in that category. It will also fail due to the number of pax booked and the types available to accommodate that occupancy.
As it runs 72h from arrival, a lot can change in those three days.
Can the hotels opt out or is it compulsory? I've had many stays and upgrades since the system went live but very few through the auto feature. I assume hotels can customise how many categories they're prepared for the auto feature to upgrade through?
