Had A3 partner airline-issued award tickets for an itinerary with UA flights, and there was no connection with A3 except that the A3 FFP numbers were eventually entered into the partner airline records. When the UA flight departing ORD got delayed, A3 emailed out about the UA delay with emails titled “New expected departure time for your flight ____”. Each of the emails included the FFP account member names, member ID, award miles and tier level. Further into the body of the email, it said:

This was the first time I’ve ever gotten flight delay emails from A3 for award tickets issued by other Star Alliance carriers on bookings with no A3 flights on them.
