The tags are cool. We can see that they arrive at the airports of each of our legs. The first time my kid checks (The tags are on his iPhone since I have Android) as soon as we landed and he said "oh no they are left behind 1100 miles"! I told him to check again after we get to the baggage claim and when they start to unload the luggage. Sure enough, our new family members on the "Find My" showed up.
The same thing happened on a recent flight, except that one bag made it with us to DC. The others were still in Frankfurt. When he checks tell him to look at how long since it updated the location. That will give an idea if they are where it says, or if it is just the last place they were detected.
