Weekend Stay

We had a great weekend stay at the hotel, and would stay again in a heartbeat. A few highlights:
  • Upgrade: Applied SNAs at booking and was upgraded to a corner Haiku Suite three days before arrival.
  • Welcome: It was about a 20-30 min drive from the airport. I downloaded the Eva app and found that to be cheaper than Uber. Friendly and very personalized check-in. We were celebrating our anniversary and some chilled prosseco and a note was in our room!
  • Room: Cozy for a suite, but had all the right elements. Seems like the architects could have made the suite bigger by taking up more of the dead hallway space, but I’m sure there were structural challenges. Furniture was comfy, although the dining table was a bit tight! Bedroom was snug but sufficient. Bathroom did feel a little small and the lack of a double vanity was a negative. Also, unless we were blind — no hooks in the bathroom anywhere! HVAC worked well. Floor to ceiling windows were bright, with blackout curtains. Nespresso in room. Additional powder room by entry way.
  • Breakfast: The restaurant was super stylish and comfortable. The menu notated which entrees were “inclus” for Bonvoy. However, you only got one choice. For example, I wasn’t able to have a small yogurt parfait with my main entree. Coffee/tea and orange juice was included but espresso drinks were not (although my wife’s latte was not charged). Servings were VERY generously sized. Breakfast was open until 10am.
  • Elevators: The wait for elevators took forever and they were often packed. It seemed like one wasn’t working and the third was reserved for employees.
  • Location: Really liked the location overall. There is a bakery/coffee shop on the ground floor. Across the courtyard was an upscale grocery store, Avril. The hotel is a couple blocks from the Metro (and you could walk through the Palais des Congres for one of those blocks). The airport bus is also a couple of blocks away. Easy walk down to Old Town. We had a great weekend — would highly recommend advance reservations at Moccione for cocktails and Italian fare! (It’s about 30 min from the hotel by Metro.)
