First time using amex fine hotels and after checking into to hotel (in France) they say no upgrade is available and that I need to checkout at noon instead of 4pm. Lots of upgrades available to book at hotel especially since only here 2 nights, so not too sure how to argue for that. As for 4pm checkout they say it’s based on availability and that they will only let me know day of. How should I proceed to solve this?
As for $100 credit at hotel, the person at checkin did not know how this would apply. Is it fair to say that if charge $200 to my room, half would be covered by this?
All the FHR places I've been to provided an info sheet at check-in.
At one hotel the credit applied only to restaurants but not room service. It was not explicitly stated on the info sheet. It happens the same agent who did my check-in did the check-out and claimed he told me at check-in. I am not sure.
Anyway they waived the room service charges without asking.
