I have never been to Sofia, but for actually visiting as opposed to a B2B I'm a bit intimidated by the Cyrillic script. I've been to Bucharest and really enjoyed it, reminded me of Lisbon 15 years ago when I was a young uni student.
SOF is an international airport, all the signs are in English too (and the announcements). For those going to town, metro has announcements in both Bulgarian and English. I'm not too sure as I have no problem reading Cyrillic, but I think even street signs had Latin script on them.
