If you are booking economy, that is a different situation. LH charges for TATL economy (non-award) seat assignments and is problematic for codeshares (best to change to LH flight numbers)

You may be talking about a different situation from the OP.

Thanks for clarifying. Flown Econ with LH a couple of times and no way I could select seats until OLCI, same with SK.
