The phone agent said absolutely not, but I'm wondering if people have experience with the cabin crew being a little more understanding of the situation? Do you think?
There is a price difference as well between adults and children, so it it could be seen as trying to cheat the system to save money/miles. To be honest you'd have to rely on the discretion of the cabin crew on the day and hope for the best - so prepare for economy and be surprised if you get business, so I don't think any of us can really advise on this front. And keep an eye out for any upgrade offers for the two in economy as the flight gets closer, as this would solve the problem as well.
