Uh… from my experiences in Japan, foreigners not complying w/ local customs will only earn consternation and simmering resentment rather than a “If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em!” sentiment. Would only keep public opinion against allowing unfettered tourism & “disrespectful” foreigners
