You didn't book into Y, you booked flexible Q, which earns nothing at BA.

That's not how it works. The different fare brands now apply to all economy fare buckets. You can purchase an expensive Y fare but still have to choose between Lite (no baggage, no refunds), Basic and Flex (all the perks). However, you'd still earn the same Y rate when crediting to partners, regardless of fare brand.

Conversely, a Flex Q fare comes with perks like refundability and more baggage allowance, but earns nothing at BA, because it's still a Q fare. This is Tofino87's predicament.

To be fair, MH does display the fare bucket when selecting your flight. There's just no way to force it to book a higher RBD unless the lower ones are fully booked/zeroed out. You'd have to get a TA to do it for you.
