Based on my experience, very low chance of getting a plunge pool suite in advance, but costs you nothing to ask. You will likely not be proactively offered at check-in, and if you ask and they have availability, it'll be in the $150-$250+ range/night.
December trip coming up. Booked standard room on points and used a Globalist suite upgrade to a Oceanview Suite. I emailed the resort about paying in advance up to a pool suite and received this offer:
Plunge Pool Rooftop Suite $300 a night. $372 a night after taxes and service.
Bi-Level Penthouse Suite $450 a night. $558 a night after taxes and service.
That's a lot more than I expected (the revenue difference between the oceanview suite and pool suite is $100). I'll be politely turning it down but wondering if that upgrade cost would go down on day of check in if a pool suite was still available. Just seems to be way way higher than other offers people were made.
