Well. The AA part should be obvious, I wonder if there is a AE designation?

The 1 could be a label for different versions of the fare? Or are there any different versions of an N fare for one pair of cities, say SFO-SAN? This is just a guess, I would expect there is, or at least a RT/ One way designation, but that may just be another fare entirely.
