I got an un-asked for upgrade! to Gold Medallion status for my family member.
We carefully planned a trip to AMS leaving her with 49k MQM => 24k MQM for rollover to next year to get a jump start with 3x15 MQM boosts to 70 - so she could hit 75 and get PM status easily for next 2 years

Is this a lowering of DL Medallion requirements this year ? -> If so, (and most importantly), will 24k rollover? - If not we will fight this status upgrade!

Is this a GM gift upgrade from past 3 years that was due to expire, being extended another year independent of the MQM level?
Any other data points welcome

My DM status ends in 4 months.
I gifted GM status in 2019 that kept getting extended through the pandemic.
I have decided to keep my stash of rollover MQMs last much longer by going for only 30k spend each year and staying at PM longer rather tnan try to go to DM by 250k MQD waiver
I have not had my DM status extended for next year (not that it matters much now that award cancels are free to all)
