It wasn’t KL tickets for me. But I had some very cheap DL-issued roundtrip economy class tickets for travels between JFK and CPH where I no-showed for the DL-operated US-departing flights; and then weeks and months after the no-shows for the US departures, I did OLCI for the return flights operated by AF/KL and flew just the return portions from CPH to the US without issues. Those were the first and only times for me to experience this kind of thing to work during the eticket era with major alliance partner airlines. This was during the Obama Admin. Surprised me completely that it worked even a bit then; even more surprised that the times I got it to work repeatedly during the eticket era was with such close partner airlines as DL and AF/KL.
