Hi

A similar thing happened to me during the T5 debacle of 26th Feb this year. My flight was cancelled at the last minute and due to the total failure of BA's systems, they were uncontactable online and by phone. I booked my own replacement flight on easyJet and sent a claim to BA when I got home.

It was a long, drawn-out process, but eventually BA paid my other claims (they lost my bags as well), but steadfastly refused to pay for my easyJet flight.

So, after reading the above thread, I filed MCOL (eventually!). To my surprise I received a letter today saying that BA will defend the claim! I wondered whether anyone else had experienced this? Is this a new strategy from BA? Has there been some recent case law which has gone their way?
