IHG WiFi speed (clue: not fast..)
I am a long-stayer at an IHG property in the Middle East. I remote work from my room quite often and need to access video files. Lately, they have been buffering a lot. I checked the internet speed and it is a glacial 5 Mbps. This compares to 500 Mbps at my work, so 100 times slower. I spoke to the management who connected me with their IT guy, a polite young man in a smart suit. He assured me that 5 Mbps was "IHG standard", indeed "IHG mandated", that it was centrally controlled by IHG and so there was no way he could improve the speed. I don't doubt the man's sincerity but it really sounds like he may be misinformed. Can this possibly be the case in 2022? Does anyone know the answer? And if so, how would one address this?
Many thanks, Grantosol
