Ah, for me, no--I probably wouldn't book Saver fares under any circumstances. To each his own, but I just find that it makes little sense to opt for a fare where I'm not going to enjoy the full benefits of "elite status." If I were going to choose that route, I mind as well, say, go fly F9 or WN. As to my last Saver fare, being me, I booked it when they first introduced it because I really wasn't paying attention. I still recall a good natured AS CSR advising, "you should never book a Saver fare." And, I've avoided them like the plague since that initial experience.

Of course, I'd agree. While Saver fares may not make sense for me, I can appreciate where it may for many others.
