What are the odds of fare class T opening up at later date?
There is always a possibility for a multitude of reasons. Personally, I always prefer a longer connection to a shorter one when connecting to long-haul internation award flights. IRROPS or delays on the inbound can chew up a connection pretty quickly. I will even arrive at the connection city a day early and stay overnight in a hotel.
There is another option I didn't mention prior. For the SEA-LAX AS flight you can do a SDC on award flights too. It would be a $50 fee if you don't have a waiver. The fee is waived for MVPG+ Elites and AA CK, ExPlat & PPro.
