There is no chance that I would want to do SYD-AKL-SYD-LAX , just to do SYD-LAX in business and SYD-AKL-SYD in something that isn't much different to Premium Economy
SYD-NAN-LAX with 8 hours in NAN would not be better for me than a morning flight to LA in premium economy.
Appreciate your input and def. gave me something to think about and maybe if PE was $1000 less I'd jump on it. The QF fare is $2200 from AKL or $2500 on FJ from Nadi. I gotta go with a flat bed even if it means adding some time in FJ or the silly SYD-AKL-SYD just to get back to SYD. I think a flat bed and a 1-2-1 (not 2-2-2) are the 2 most important things to me. I'd normally say the food is #1 but while flying I think hard product trumps it.
Between QF or FJ with both offering lie flat & 1-2-1 I was then trying to determine things on food. QF seems to offer way more food, snacks & a cheese course but I really like some of the pics of food I see on some recent FJ reviews.
