Well, dark blue and red yes, in those times but that's an aside.

But they ask for the same things and deliver the same info (save for database issues when one is updated already and the other isn't yet)
By definition they don't deliver the same info when one fails to update their system and database before the other.

They both have customer facing interfaces and subscribers. TIMATIC is an IATA product.

For travelers, there can be a difference between the two. Timatic gets updated more often and is more responsive to updating their material. The two, jointly and severally, have at times been wrong before in what they deliver. But errors more commonly arising from the use of each of these systems are based on human error: airline employee/contractor error in the inputting of the info of relevance for a traveler's trip; and error in how the results are read/interpreted.
