Started with UberX then Uber Comfort and both time it just said waiting for driver for about 10 minutes. The crowd at the Uber pickup area grew to maybe 150 people deep and everyone was looking at their phone waiting for a match.

Decided to try Uber Green which I never used before and got matched right away. When he arrived (only took about 2 mins after we matched), I asked the drive why Uber doesn't have enough driver at LAX and he said that is not true... he said the Uber lot where he just came from probably has 300 cars waiting but the rate Uber is offering is just too low so drivers are not accepting rides. My driver said he basically just accept all the rides that Uber tries to match him but he said some (most?) Uber drivers at LAX would rather wait until Uber increase the rate. I guess they must know if they just band together and not accept rides, Uber will eventually bump the rate up? Would be fascinating to know if this is a coordinated effort or they just figured it out.
It’s so amusing when the Davids outsmart Goliath.
