This practice of using inflated exchange rates for the Amex FHR Credit needs to go. Hotels can charge whatever they want for exchanging cash (which IME is often set at deterrent pricing levels, because some properties just don't want to be moneychangers). That's cool. But it's borderline fraudulent to apply those rates to the conversion of a USD credit when no cash is being exchanged, no service is being provided, and no rationale exists for not providing the credit at prevailing rates. This nonsense always leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I see it.
