So I booked one adult and one child in J and the other adult and child in economy. I was told we could switch on the plane. When I called today to book children's meals, I was informed that would not be allowed to switch and so currently my husband and 11 year old are in business and I'm in economy.

I called the help desk today and they said they can't do anything about it even though I was just following instructions. Does anyone have any ideas or perhaps has faced a similar situation? I'm shocked they won't assist and don't know what to do.

Many thanks in advance.
You were misinformed when you bought the tickets. Airlines won't generally allow children to sit unaccompanied in a different cabin. So you won't be able to switch unless your kids can pass as adults.

If you had known this, would you have booked all four in economy or would you still have split it up so at least two could sit in business?
