People can
expect all manner of things to reflect their status tier but that doesn’t necessarily match what they actually receive.
The F class check-in desks at LGW were summarily removed and I’d be surprised (albeit pleasantly so) to see them make a come-back. Doesn’t bother me personally as an OLCI + HBO traveller, but a good number of other Gold Members will lament the loss of a benefit, one which has now resulted in much longer queues at the Club check-in area.
And with regard to lounge facilities, I sense there is a lot in what
SxMan posts above as a likely future enhancement. So, there are savings to be made on both counts here, and such opportunities tend to override any potential concerns in the mind of a relatively insignificant number of pax, especially those who acquired their (short-term) elevated status on the back of a rare double TP offer.
