Seat choice purely depends on how busy the flight is. If you have nobody in front of you or behind you then you could have a fairly relaxing flight in any of the none bulkhead seats. You will have decent space in front and wont feel like your own seats is getting punched every time someone wants to change the movie they are watching.
In the above pictures 35D is mentioned as the best seat. This seat offers better legroom as it over hangs the bulkhead but whilst this gives you more legroom (and nobody to recline in front) you do experience a lot of foot traffic with both other pax and crew invading your space as it is a natural point to move into when people are going opposite ways.
As mentioned the footrest and leg supports are pretty much just a gimmick and do not really offer anything.
