It is also possible to take the SMART train from near STS to Novato. I haven't checked in a while, but there's supposed to be a shuttle bus from STS to the train station. The SMART train is a nice ride, but the odds of getting good alignment with your flight arrival time and the train schedule are not good. Driving time to STS is about 40 min (no traffic), OAK 45 min (no traffic), and SFO 55 min (no traffic).
