No offense but this is more stupidity. In the USA we have been issuing “forever” stamps for years, one stamp is always good for first class postage even if the rates rise. I’m sure the post office more than makes up the cost through spoilage and interest on the prepaid stamps.
And the UK has been issuing such stamps for years as well.
As for stupidity there are literally hunderds of things where the rest of the world thinks the US are the stupid ones.
