I am fairly postivie UA wants to limit the total GS and continue with the glut of 1ks. Why? GS costs them $ in terms of service and effort. I'm sure many GS will argue that it is much more limited than ever before, they still do need to cater to some extent. 1k? We all feel super special not having to line up in order to secure an overhead spot, the plus points look shiny in our account (where they tend to stay), and we've become accustomed to the fact the only way we're sitting up front is if we pay to do so. Yes, it's fun to travel with family and be able to book everyone in E+, but.... It really costs UA little/nothing to maintain the 1K crowd, and I am certain being 1K pushes many to book with UA when they have a choice of carriers....
