Your MVPG100K suggestions are not commensurate with the requirement to get there from MVPG75K. It wouldn't be much over running segments to attain 24.

Yes but only if such a 100k opted to forgo other perks.
The idea is not to add/decrease the net perks or cost, but rather allow members to chose what makes the most sense for them.

There's the 150% earn rate to keep flying beyond 100k however I'd guess if one is going beyond, they need AS more so for the schedule and routes vis-a-vis the loyalty program. In other words, they not a customer at the margin and are opting to fly AS for reasons beyond the loyalty scheme.
That said the nature of this opens the door to incremental threshold bonuses (e.g. X at every Y EQMs beyond 100k) should AS wish to consider it.
