Currently at ~$50K, likely another $20K this year as Asia travel starts to return. Mostly book business anyway, but concur with the posters above the other historical GS benefits are being chipped away at that I'll likely switch spend to other airlines now that give a hoot.

While UA went overboard over last week on cards/nice recognition on flights as I crossed the 2M mark, I did have to get creative for a BOS-SFO-SIN with the domestic leg in Economy to avoid the insane $35K tickets from another thread. Even the flight attendants remarked 'you'd think they'd push an upgrade through for all this travel'!

Since we live in both we have a ton of flexibility for our holidays for an origin point -- and in the past we would go totally go out of our way to use UA due to GS status, GF, Polaris, etc... including flying from TYO to the EU via the US -- but we are so done with the totally awful soft product, and in the past year we often get our Polaris planes replaced by 764's / non Polaris 787's, and honestly, originating in NYC / TYO for the same price (and often better) we get a better seat on many planes / routes we fly -- and 100% of the time we get a better soft product... My wife keeps burning her JAL points to get back to TYO -- if I posted pics of their soft product here you would all cry -- including their on demand food available any time....

Since UA monitors this forum actively and they DO know who we are -- just take a look at our spend since June -- we put up with the awfulness for six months and spent enough for GS -- but it's just not worth it any more for people that spend their own money -- and as someone that does both -- rewarding UA with OPM isn't worth it either... I knew this day would come when Kirby came to town -- I had hoped it wouldn't be so soon....
Couldn't have said it better. My only requirements are pre-boarding, a mattress pad (INTL), regular refills of club soda, and coffee. I'm lucky to get one of those on any given flight, and get yelled at for going to the galley to ask for drinks.
