I read the original post as intended to be tongue-in-cheek, so I took it that way. What amazes me, though, are the number of people who really do believe they are owed some type of compensation for such an inconvenience.

Some bozo sets off the fire alarm, so the hotel now owes everyone something. I don't get the mentality.
